We've been having some problems at home. Well, actually, it's one problem. It's my kuya. I love him dearly but sometimes I really wanna whack him. Is that bad? Tough love baby!

Anyway, I bought a birthday present for papa. Ubos na pera ko but it's ok. He's worth it. I bought him the aluminum hard case for his T3. And I got it wrapped for P78. It took him about 5 minutes to open the gift. I begged him to make it last a bit since the wrapping itself was kinda pricey. Lance even video taped my father opening his gift. It's a pathetic way of immortalizing the P78 gift wrap.

And yes, he loved the gift. His birthday is on the 16th. I gave him his gift in advance because I'm going back on field next week.

We also watched Catwoman. It was a disappointment. Well, maybe if you watched the movie already expecting it to suck, it won't be that bad. But oh! Where is the justice in the world if Hale Berry could look so darn hot and I can't? *looks at self in mirror* Eck! I want a body like that too! Where was I when God was giving away hot bods?

Hang on a sec. I gotta beat up my younger brother.

Writing frenzy

I'm in a writing frenzy. I am so hyper I might actually get my work done. Ain't that great? But at the back of my mind, I keep on thinking about other things that I wanted to share but didn't get the chance to.

Did you know that Lance is a genius?

Last Sunday, he asked me to help him with his thesis outline.

His words: Ate, patulong naman mag-edit, hindi ko na alam ang gagawin ko.

What he means: Ate, ayaw ko na, ikaw na lang gawa.

And me? I said yes but only because I heard his words and didn't get what he really meant until Boyd found me online.

Yes, I edited. But I also added and erased a couple of sentences to add sense (at least to my mind) to his outline. And what was he doing as I fight sleepiness and work on his outline? He was sleeping.

Lance is a genius. It took Boyd's teasing to make me realize that. My brother got me to actually contribute to his outline.

But of course, I wasn't about to let him get away with it. In keeping to the tradition that sisters are supposed to be mean to their brothers, and well, plainly, I am evil, I woke him up and asked him a really difficult question regarding his thesis. It woke him up alright! He was caught off guard by my question. Hahaha... He couldn't sit still after that. He kept on stressing his brain cells trying to come up with an answer. While I kept on blabbering and preaching about what he was supposed to do. I wonder, who died and made me brilliant?

And he comes off telling me that I don't deserve that much credit since I was just editing.

Right honey, keep telling yourself that. People get paid to edit. Currently feeling: like an evil sister

Another two weeks of chaos in my crayzee life.

The field work was ok. I just had to wake up at 3am everyday but it’s ok. It was a little bit warmer than the freezing point.

A soldier calls me Melai. And he said he got it from Camille. Go figure. If you can find the connection please tell me ASAP. Another addition to an already long list of nicknames for me. An author said that having too many names is having no name at all… hmmm… Pano na si Torsdey?

I’m looking forward to another pizza fest. I need one.

There are some things that are always there that you don’t acknowledge it anymore, for example grass. You don’t really pay attention to it till you find out you’re allergic. That’s the only time you really see it. It’s presence or absence suddenly becomes important to you. You adjust what you wear to avoid contact with them. You don’t roll down the field with your friends anymore. How you see grass has changed and so have you. Well, I found my “grass.” And I’m changed.

A parrot told me that if you fool around with something too much it’s gonna break. I’ve let go. And I’m free.

You know how it feels when you ask for ice cream and you get plain milk? Or worse, you get water with ice? That’s what I feel right now. Only, someone promised me that ice cream. Every single time I believe that I’ll finally have a calorie feast, I end up with water. Plain, tasteless water. That ice cream has been on the “next time” list for so long, I believe it’s never going to come. It’s disappointing. It’s frustrating. And it’s making me a bit mad.

I can’t find my smile. Currently feeling: grumpy

I was planning to upload a whole bunch of pictures last night. Unfortunately, the desktop conked out in the process. This was the only picture that got uploaded. It was taken Aug 16, my dad's birthday. I just got back from the field that day. I don't know what that look is about. Fish face trying to suck the cake maybe?
